Lignin is one of the world's most abundant polymers, present in wood, grass, straw etc. Traditionally lignin is burnt in the pulp milling industry as a residue for low energy value, Lignin can now be used to produce a thermoplastic material that can replace regular fossil-based plastics up to 30%. With an LCA of -1,9 kg CO2 eq/kg this enables the development of net-zero plastic packaging for the e-commerce industry.
